Jamali - Private Camera/Photos
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Jamali ("Jamali," "app," "we," "our," or "us") handles information when you use the app.
1. Summary
Jamali is designed to store captured media locally on your device. Jamali does not upload your captured photos or videos to our servers by default.
2. Information Processed by the App
Depending on how you use Jamali, the app may process:
- photos and videos you capture using the app
- audio recorded when you choose video capture with sound
- password-related protection data stored for app access control
- device permission states needed to determine whether features can run
3. Where Your Media Is Stored
Captured media is stored locally inside Jamali's app container on your device. As of the current version:
- captured photos and videos are written to local app storage
- media remains there unless you delete it or explicitly export/share it
- Jamali does not upload captured media to a remote Jamali server by default
4. Authentication and Library Protection
If you enable library protection:
- your password-related protection data is stored using iOS Keychain-backed storage
- Face ID may be used, if enabled by you and supported by your device, to help unlock access inside the app
Biometric information itself is handled by Apple's system frameworks. Jamali does not receive or store your Face ID biometric template.
5. Permissions We Use
Jamali may request access to the following device features:
- Camera: used to capture photos and videos
- Microphone: used when you record videos with audio
- Photos access: only used if you choose a custom wallpaper from Photos or explicitly export media back to Photos
If you deny a permission, related features may not work correctly.
6. Sharing and Export
Jamali uses system-provided share or export flows when you explicitly choose to export media. Once you share or export media to another app, service, or platform, that third party's privacy practices apply.
7. Analytics and Diagnostics
Jamali may use limited operational analytics and crash diagnostics to understand app usage, improve stability, and diagnose problems. These services may include:
- Firebase Analytics for usage and engagement analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting and diagnostics
These services are provided by Google and may process technical or usage-related information such as:
- app version
- device type
- operating system version
- approximate timestamps of feature use
- crash logs
- diagnostic event information
Jamali is not intended to send your captured photos or videos to Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics as part of normal operation.
Jamali is also not intended to send vault passwords, biometric templates, or freeform media-derived identifiers to Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics as part of normal operation.
8. Data Retention
Media and related local app data remain on your device until:
- you delete the media
- you uninstall the app
- your device or system removes local app data
Some data may also be affected by Apple device backup and restore behavior.
Operational analytics and crash diagnostics may be retained by the applicable service provider according to that provider's retention practices and our configuration of those services.
9. Children's Privacy
Jamali is not intended for use by children under the age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction without appropriate parental or guardian involvement.
10. Your Choices
You can:
- revoke permissions in iOS Settings
- delete media from within Jamali
- choose whether to export media outside Jamali
- uninstall the app to remove app access from your device
